Comms Directorate denies claims of visa blockade amid currency concerns

The Presidency Communications Directorate's Disinformation Combat Center (DCC) denied the claim that "the government is preventing Turkish citizens from obtaining Schengen visas to prevent foreign currency outflow."

A statement was issued by the DCC regarding the claim shared on social media accounts, which are being manipulated by the Gulenist Terror Group (FETO) for manipulative purposes, stating, "The government is preventing Turkish citizens from obtaining Schengen visas to prevent foreign currency outflow."

The statement conveyed that embassies continue their efforts to overcome the problem of appointments being postponed to later dates due to the density of visa applications. It emphasized that allegations suggesting "applications are closed" or "blocked" due to appointments being scheduled for later dates are entirely unfounded.

The statement also advised not to trust the manipulation campaigns of terrorist organizations.
